Scott Otteman

Scott Otteman holds a M.A. in international relations and a M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, as well as a M.A. in development economics and a B.A. in human biology from Stanford University. Before assuming his duties full time at the CLC Secretariat in January 2006, he held a series of non-governmental posts based in the Washington, DC area. They include Director of International Trade Policy for the National Association of Manufacturers, a Washington lobby group, and Trade Policy Director and Development Director for the Inter-American Dialogue policy center. Earlier in his career, Scott spent ten years covering international trade negotiations as chief editor or senior reporter for Inside NAFTA/Americas Trade, Inside U.S. Trade and other policy-oriented publications.
