He is a surgeon, graduate of the l’Escuela Superior de Medicina del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Superior Medical School of the National Polytechnic Institute). He has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the l’Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública de México (National Institute of Public Health of Mexico). He is a certified Physician in Occupational Medicine.
His present position in the Sociedad de Medicina del Trabajo (General Administration of Occupational Health and Safety) of the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (Labour and Social Services Secretariat) is that of Policy Director, Occupational Risk Prevention.
He was President of the Sociedad de Medicina del Trabajo (Occupational Medicine Society) during the 1999-2000 period, and visiting Professor at various Universities in the country.
