His research area includes subjects such as national and international security, Canada, US and Mexico foreign policy, European security policy, civil-military relationships, as well as International Relations Theory. In 1996, he obtained a PhD in Political Science by the McGill University, in Montreal, Canada. He served as research professor at the Concordia University, Montreal; at the Iowa State University, US; as well as in the Norman Paterson School for International Affairs, Canada. His most recent publications examine the impact of the Canadian Foreign Policy in Latin-American, the Trilateral and Hemispheric Security, as well as the Collective Security in Europe. Currently, he is writing a book on International Relations Theory.
